The Bachelor's program of Physical Therapy from the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Srinakharinwirot The Faculty of Physical Therapy, Srinakharinwirot University, was the fifth institution in Thailand to offer physical therapy education, having done so since 1993. The Faculty offers a professional Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy as well as graduate programs, namely the Master of Science (M.Sc.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physical Therapy. In addition, the Faculty provides short courses and continuing professional development training for physical therapists across a wide range of areas.
Among these programs, the Bachelor of Science Program in Physical Therapy (Revised Curriculum 2025) is an officially approved program with an educational philosophy centered on a commitment to learning and professional ethical awareness in physical therapy for the well-being of the people and community. The curriculum is designed to produce graduates who can effectively utilize language and digital technology for learning, communication, and collaboration while demonstrating a business-oriented mindset, public consciousness, and ethical conduct. Students are trained to perform physical therapy assessments and diagnosis in accordance with professional laws and standards utilizing evidence-based practice. Furthermore, the program prepares graduates to execute health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation skills integrated with advanced physical therapy technologies using professional judgement, enabling them to evaluate current health situations to plan, manage, and administer physical therapy services.
Driven by digital transformation, changing healthcare demographics, and stakeholder feedback, the 2025 curriculum features several significant enhancements. Total major course credits were reduced from 99 to 95 by minimizing overlapping content and integrating learning sequences to promote critical thinking and clinical reasoning. The modernized content incorporates current healthcare trends such as wellness, healthy aging, and geriatric care, heavily emphasizing the use of modern physical therapy equipment, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital technology in professional practice. Organized into a modular format, the program offers increased free elective credits and specialized capstone electives to support students' individual interests and career aspirations. To ensure clinical and research excellence, students engage in a sequential, two-year research continuum starting in Year 3 and complete a minimum of 1,000 hours of clinical practice, developing the deep clinical and analytical capabilities needed to propose innovative concepts that support the aging society and enhance public well-being.
